This importfilter is suited for use on 'downloads' (saved selections of record sets) from the WebSPIRS database from which the actual filter's name is derived. Since there are some setting options available preparing a download (or mail-message) from this bibliographic database it is important to choose the correct settings for optimal import of data into your endnote library:
When you choose the "Save" or "Mail" button from the search screen in WebSPIRS after you finished searching (and marking some records) you're prompted to select some options within three sections, SPECIAL ATTENTION TO SECTION 2!!:
"Save (Send) These
Records"
If you have marked one or more records in the search screen, WebSPIRS
selects 'marked record(s)' by default. However, you are free in selecting
one of the to other options ('All records' or 'Record number' range).
"Save (Send) These Fields"
WebSPIRS selects 'Displayed Fields' by default regrettably. You are strongly advised to change this setting to: 'Complete Record' in order to gather all available information in your endnote library in the end.
"Also Save (Send)"
WebSPIRS selects 'Search History' and 'Short labels' settings by default. It is advised not to change these settings: if you change from 'Short labels' to another setting, endnote will NOT recognise the download!
Now you are ready to save (or send) your selection: it is advised to dedicate a specific name to the downloadfile in order to easily recognise it when importing into your endnote library.
Regurlarly check: http://www.ub.unimaas.nl/endnote/endnote-start.htm for filter, styles, connection files updates and other information on endnote.
