INTRODUCTION
In-text citations and correspondent bibliographies (reference lists) in manuscripts should follow the "instructions to authors" of the journal or organization the manuscript is submitted to. Endnote comes with hundreds of Output Styles enabling you to easily format citations and reference lists according to these instructions. Endnote enables you to create or edit Output Styles yourself.
Essays of students in Health Sciences (Maastricht University) should follow (slightly adapted) APA or Vancouver conventions. These styles are downloadable from the table below. The official Endnote support site of Thomson itself offers more than 3000 different output styles. The next paragraph explains how to install these styles on your own computer.

SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS
Since from Endnote4 ALL available styles are in the endnote\styles directory (not divided in subdirectories anymore) you should MARK the styles of your choice in the so-called Styles manager (menu File / Output Styles / Open Style Manager). To select  (and easily mark) the styles provided by us (see table) click on the "category" column in the Style Manager and scroll to "university library Maastricht" in this column to find our styles grouped together. Marked styles will pop-up from now on immediately if one selects "output styles" in the file menu.

To save the styles from the table beneath to your \endnote\styles directory just 'right'-click on the style in the table below. Take care the style is saved under the correct file-name.
